Indian Springs Holiness Camp Meeting · Flovilla, GA July 12-22, 2012

Rev. Mark Nysewander

Rev. Mark Nysewander grew up attending Indian Springs Holiness Camp meeting where his grandfather, the late Rev. B.C. Gamble, was a regular evangelist at Indian Springs. As a young boy, Mark came to the Lord at the Main Tabernacle.

Rev. Nysewander graduated from Asbury College in 1970. He received his Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. For 14 years, he served as a local pastor in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Foreign missions have long been a passion of Rev. Nysewander and his career has been consistently involved in church planting. He and his wife, Kathy, served as missionaries in Monterrey, Mexico for three years where he taught at Juan Wesley Seminario and was successful in planting a number of churches. After returning to the States, he was executive director of the Francis Asbury Society in Wilmore, KY, from 1989–1995.

For five years, Rev. Nysewander was senior pastor of Bethany Missionary Church in Bloomington, MN. This church was affiliated with the Bethany Fellowship which had a mission agency and a mission training school.

Rev. Nysewander is presently one of the associate pastors of RiverStone, a Wesleyan Fellowship Church, in Marietta, GA. He and Kathy have three adult children and several grandchildren.

Rev. Nysewander has written 3 books: The Fasting Key, Discovering Your Spiritual Portrait and No More Spectators. The last book explores the eight values of a disciple-maker. Discipleship has been an important part of his ministry over the years. Simply stated, the eight values are:

  • Aim for a few
  • Be with them
  • Cause each other to obey
  • Do “Jesus work” together
  • Empower them to lead
  • Find the lost together
  • Guide them to multiply
  • Help them succeed
  • Rev. Nysewander still enjoys an itinerant ministry, preaching in local churches here in the United States and in other countries. Mark and Kathy have three adult children and are enjoying four grandchildren. When Mark is not preaching, teaching or writing, he enjoys painting landscapes.
